Fault with the main
extract fan unit
Client – American Embassy
Site Location –
Nine Elms Lane, London, SW11
Contract Duration –
Spanning across one day.
Site visits out of normal working hours.
Services supplied –
With secured access to the Embassy, we supplied and fitted the main shaft bearings to a Greenheck main extract fan unit.
Highlights of Services Completed Included –
Initially our mechanical team surveyed the Greenheck main extract fan unit, which is situated on the roof of the building to confirm the fault. Then once we knew exactly what the problem was, we sourced the bearings from America.
Once the parts arrived from America, we went to the Embassy, to fix the main extract fan unit out of normal working hours.
Our team needed to isolate the unit on the roof and lock off, remove all the necessary parts to replace two main shaft bearings. Then once everything was stripped back, we removed both the bearing blocks and replaced with the new bearings.
We then thoroughly tested it, to ensure it was fully up and running with the new parts.
Lastly, the site was left clean and tidy with all redundant parts being disposed of at a licensed refuse/recycling facility.
Result –
We made certain the main extract fan unit was left in full working order.
The client was happy the work was completed quickly and out of hours, with no disruption to services.
