Highlights of Services Completed Included
Our engineers attended TFL’s Palestra House in and out of hours to carry out the following works:
- Firstly, to allow for the removal of a redundant fuel cell, we constructed a secure hoarding on the outside of the windows. Following on from this our team ensured the hoarding was watertight, and for access fitted a set of double doors with security locks.
- Secondly, once the hoarding had been constructed and fixed to the building, we removed two sections of existing windows for the redundant items to be removed through.
- Thirdly, the existing prefabricated enclosure was dismantled and set aside for removal from site.
- After that, the redundant pipework for the fuel cell and plant was then dismantled and set aside for removal from site.
- Working with our chosen specialist craneage company, we applied for road closure to guarantee parking for the transportation of the removed fuel cell.
- Once the fuel cell and plant were lifted and shifted away safely by the cranage company, under our supervision. After that, the redundant items were stored at the craneage company awaiting disposal collection.
- Following the safe removal of the redundant items, we reinstalled the previously removed windows and dismantled the exterior hoarding.
- Our team cleared the site of all redundant items and disposed of at a licensed refuse/recycling facility.
- Lastly, the site was left clean and tidy.
Result:
In conclusion, the fuel cell and plant were successfully removed from the building with minimal disruption.
What’s more, the clients were happy with the logistics, speed, tidiness after the works and how the building windows were put back as if they had never been removed.
Let’s hear what TFL had to say:
“I am very pleased on how Ian and your company managed the TFL fuel cell removal at our head office in Palestra London.
Site works were well managed and carefully co-ordinated with other contractors, which contributed to the successful delivery and handover of the project.
I look forward to working again with your company in the future.”
