Press Release – Cartagena, Spain – 10 March 2019
Sam Wilford #35 was out on track for four-days in Spain this week in the pre-season Pro-Test at Cartagena. Sam completed 163 laps in perfect weather conditions aboard the IDWe 2018 Kalex Moto 2 which will be competing this season in the British GP2 Championship, starting in just 5 weeks time on the 19-21 April at Silverstone.
Sam Wilford IDWe Racing’s Rider:
“Another very successful test for me and the team. We are working really well with the package that we have and are making big leaps forward each time I get on the bike. It’s been great having some support from Kalex throughout the tests this winter, which has helped me get up to speed quicker. I now can’t wait to get out at Silverstone for the Official BSB test in a few weeks time!”
Andy Jamison IDWe Racing’s Crew Chief:
“I’ve worked to a planned programme to try and understand how the chassis responds to various changes, as well as to see what works and does not work for Sam. I’m pleased to say that I think we’ve been successful in this regard, and achieved most of the goals I’d hoped for. We’ve also played a fair bit with the HRC ECU and found it to be, much to my surprise, more effective than I’d believed it would be in several important areas. Finally, the all-important relationship and understanding between a rider and his Crew Chief has developed well, and we are very much on the same page, with more to come.
Coming home, we are, I believe, ready to test at Silverstone with more of our competition on track.”
IDWe Racing will be back on track at the official Bennetts British Superbike Championship test on the 28th March at Silverstone.
